Shania Twain was born August 28, 1965 in Windsor Ontario. At the young age of only 10 Shania started to write her first songs and was destine for stardom. By age 16 Shania who was known by her real name then "Eilleen" had played in her first band and was good at what she did. Shania finally signed her first recording contract in 1991 and changed her name from "Eilleen" to "Shania which is a Ojibwa word meaning "On My Way".
